Recap of the HUP.LIFE AMA with Blockchain Space

On Thursday, July 15th, we had the pleasure to welcome to our Telegram chat:

Harrison Jordan, The CEO, President and Chief Capybara at HUP.LIFE

We asked him questions about the development of HUP.LIFE.

Q~ Thanks for joining us today. Please start off by introducing yourself to the Blockchain Space community and your role in the team ?

A~ Hello! My name is Harrison Jordan. I am a lawyer from Toronto, Canada!

I am the CEO, President and Chief Capybara at HUP.LIFE.

We want to save capybaras and we’re building an NFT marketplace. to allow socially conscious artists and collectors to fully monetize their nfts through copyright around the world!

I am here to ensure the project is successful and we are transparent. 🙂

Q~ Tell us what HUP is, how it works, and what kind of value the Marketplace adds to the ever expanding NFT ecosystem ?

A~ HUP.LIFE is our project that is saving capybaras and building HUP.MARKET, a game-changing all-in one NFT platform for socially conscious artists and collectors to buy, sell, and licence art through its copyright. It’s going to be unlike anything you’ve ever seen. And it’s all powered by $HUP Token!

Q~ Can you share with us detailed information on the $HUP tokenomics and it’s usecases ?

A~ HUP is surcharged/taxed 8%. A quarter is burned forever, a quarter is sent to liquidity, a quarter is sent to $HUP holders as auto-staking rewards, and a quarter is sent to a charity wallet, where accumulated funds are sent to a capybara-related cause every month.

We have displayed the Tokenomics on our website, but have structured funds into different team-managed wallets based on the expense type 🙂 It might make accounting a bit harder for us but we want to ensure community holders can see the funds flowing out for each kind of expense.

Also, liquidity has been locked for 6 months.

Check out the pie chart and token split structures!

Q~ Can you give us an update on what HUP has accomplished till date and your future plans for HUP ?

A~ We’ve been audited by Certik and Haechi, endorsed by Steve Wozniak, launched four bounty campaigns, launched comprehensive marketing and promotional campaigns, launched a partnership with ETHO (with more to be announced shortly), and we’re putting the finishing touches on our staking partnership which we are excited about.

Oh, and we’re also a member of the #charitytokenalliance, along with more than 10 other kick-ass charity token projects looking to save the world. Not even our main TG group knows that yet! So you and your members are getting a bit of exclusive information. 🙂

Q~ There are a number of NFT Marketplaces offering the ability for artists and collectors to sell their work, like OpenSea, HoDooi, NFTify, etc. is HUP Market just another NFT knockoff platform, if not what solution are you offering that can’t be found in current platforms ?

A~ No! This is going to be built from the ground up, and we’re going to put votes to the community as to different features.

The two big things we offer is: NFT permanence, which we strive to solve, as well as allowing artists to sell to collectors, or keep and monetize to third parties through licensing, the actual copyright of the art underlying their NFT — unlocking unlimited possibilities for artists and collectors.

Artists can now get control over the compensation they deserve for their works!

Imagine licensing it to physical or virtual art galleries or metaverse parties or to advertisers to put on a building for a certain period of time.

The possilities are endless which is what I love about this project.

Q~ One of the things Hup.Life aims to do is help Capybaras, can you tell us more? With which organizations will you be working with to do so? How periodically will you donate? Do you plan to only help save Capybaras or will you expand to other animals in need too ?

A~ We’re securing organizations to donate to and work with at the moment but we have approximately $10,000USD in $HUP just from June that we are ready to donate to the Toronto High Park Zoo for their capybara family. We’re waiting to hear back from them.

We will donate each month the accumulated Charity wallet funds from the previous month.

When our 1 Wallet 1 Vote system is up, everyone that is KYC’d can vote on which capybara-related cause it goes to.

No, we are sticking with capybaras at this time. HOWEVER, we know that these donations will likely improve the livelihoods of other animals that share the land and space with capybaras, as capybaras are rarely kept by themselves, and we also hope that our donations invite others to donate and give back to the preserving the animal kingdom in general.

Q~ Getting endorsed by Steve Wozniak, Apple’s cofounder is what drew me to this project, congrats on that.

Can you explain the concept of “CeNFTs” and “Ghost NFTs” and how these NFTs differ from the traditional NFTs we are used to ?

A~ CeNFTs, or copyright-enabled NFTs, are our name for NFTs on our platform in which the copyright of the underlying art that the NFT represents has been validated. Artists can either keep the full bundle of copyright and license it to third parties on a time-limited basis, or include the full bundle of copyright when they sell their NFT to a collector. The Ghost NFT is a secondary tracking NFT that we use to denote who owns the full bundle of copyright. If a wallet holds the ceNFT and a Ghost NFT for a particular work, it can be said that they control the work’s copyright.

Q~ What are the specifics of the technology behind the web scanner that will let NFT creators search for any copy of their artwork on your platform? Also, how do you make sure the creators in your platform are the real owners of a piece before licensing ?

A~ We’re talking with multiple potential service providers, but the technology exists, through watermarking and machine-learning image recognition AI’s. Our CTO and Head of Product Donna Tremble is helping ensure everything can come together.

We will not allow works that have been uploaded to the internet before. It must be entirely new.

Q~ As a socially conscious marketplace for artists & collectors, how will you encourage the social consciousness of artists on your platform, Will it be mandatory for them to donate a certain percentage from each licensing deal, sale, or resale of their work to any charitable organization ?

A~ Yes! Each sale and licensing deal will have 5% go to a charity selected by the artist at the time of minting! We will strive to have a number of different causes to select from. And no, these are not Capybara-specific causes!

Q~ Team members is an Internal part of a project. So, tell us how many team members do you have and how many developers are working for this project?

A~ We have Donna Tremble, our talented Chief Technology Officer and Head of Product, who is managing the development of our products. Jack Bensimon, a securities law expert and adjunct professor with 3 LLM degrees, Conston Taylor, our blockchain and growth strategist, who vets all opportunities that come our way, and a team of hard-working community moderators. We also have blockchain law expert Aaron Grinhas as our General Counsel, and we are also expanding our team and will have announcements in that realm shortly.

Q~ What kind of values and community culture do you have in the community you are building?

A~ We want to build a community built on trust, transparency, animal welfare and non hostility.

Q~ Can you indicate a feature or features that you like best about the platform so that it can compete with other competitors? What are you most confident about for your platform? Do you have plans to get users to choose your platform?

A~ NFT PERMANENCE. Often times the link of the artwork image file can go down due to attacks or server issues. We’re going to solve that with our partner ETHO Protocol 🙂 I suggest you look them up.

Q~ How do you encourage long term holding, also last month you had your first partnership with ETHO Protocol, should we expect more collaborations sooner ?

A~ We encourage long term holding through special prizes including virtual livestream capybara parties and YES we will have more partnerships announced soon. The agreements have been sent out and are awaiting review by those projects.

Q~ How you assure about the security of your product and convince you aren’t a rugpull??

A~ Liquidity is locked for 6 months, and we continue to work on the project day in and day out. Our team-managed wallets are split between different expense types (such as R&D/Tech vs marketing) so you can see funds as they go out.

I hate rugpulls as I myself lost $6000 when the owner of QuadrigaCX Exchange died with the exchange’s private keys. We have a good succession plan in place, so happily that is one good thing I learned from the incident.
